im not sure if i have asked this question before - but does anyone have issues with their teeth - it isn't gums or jaw - my teeth just ache - i can't stand any sounds like nail filing scaping things - i switched from cymbalta to lyrica about a month ago due to the fact that i take imitrex and was having serotoin syndrome - the issues with my teeth were the same with the cymbalta -

Hi Tracy, I dont remember my teeth aching because of the fibro, but maybe there are others who have had this. I have a mild case of TMJ but I feel that only in the jaw area. Have you asked a dentist about this? I hope you get some answers.

My teeth do, I do not have any cavaties only wisdom teeth that need to be out and my teeth sometimes they just ache! So you are not alone!

My teeth hurt often as well, my dentist told me that fibro can sometimes cause calcium to not be absorbed properly thus causing teeth to weaken. He told me that is why my fillings fall out and that's why grinding my teeth at night has caused my molars to crumble. I hope this is not your case, but you should definitely talk to you dentist.

My teeth hurt because I clinch my teeth all the time. Fibro. pain makes it worse. Also my teeth sting and sensitive to cold.

I have sensitive teeth in general, hate to get them cleaned, and definitely can't use anything to whiten them. I've found that Colgate Sensitive toothpaste helps me.

I clench my teeth also but a lot of the time they really ache is usually from a sinus infection like right know

I just went to the dentist for a toothache.  No cavity - nothing.

The dentist said that it could definitely be the fibro.

She tested the nerves of my teeth by putting extreme cold on them.

Believe it or not I didn't respond to the cold the way a normal person would.

Yet my teeth are extremely sensitive to hot and cold.

It's really odd, what fibro can do.

I never cease to be amazed.

I just had a dental ckup and it was the first time since I was diagnosed with Fibro that it hurt that bad. I just had a cleaning, but having my jaw open REALLY hurt this time. Like within the 1st minute, I thought, I'm not going to make it through this. I actually had a screaming headache by the time I left and my jaw was killing me. Is this Fibro, meaning my jaw being so stiff, or RA??? My teeth were fine, Thank God!

thank yoy for all the replys - i went to the dentist of couple of months ago for my cleaning and i couldn't do it - my dentist has no idea nor my internist - in april when i was diagnosed with fibro - i quit taking my calrate with vitamin D (which i had been taking for years) i was trying to focus on all the other meds they had me on - i am not sure were i read it but something about a lack of calcium in your body - the best way i can explain it is that your body starts sucking the calcium from your teeth - a couple of days ago i started back on the caltrate with vitamin D (twice a day) i also starting taking 1000 mg of vitamin D - my vitamin D levels were good on my last blood work so i don't want to over do it - if you take too much vitamin D your body doesn't flush it out like it would do with vitamin C - i also realized that since i was diagnosed i have tried really hard to cut dairy and all white food from diet - i have to tell my teeth actually have been feeling better the last couple of days since i started back on the calcium - keep your finger crossed - i really appreciate everyones input - one day at a time
