No, this isn't about
finding things in strange places - not this time!
I don't know if anyone else ever heard this, but my husband was told to drive his '65 Impala as if there was an egg under the gas pedal, to baby it, because it was old. It turned out to be good advice.
Well, that's how Fibro feels to me. I can never react to anything with reckless abandon, never "push the pedal to the metal," or - you all know - more pain and fatigue and fog and general yuckiness. This goes for anything physical, mental, or emotional, at least to me. That's really a heck of a thing to be saddled with, especially if you are young!!
On the other hand, there is an upside - we are forced to slow down, so we appreciate things we might have otherwise overlooked. We have to dig down deep and find strength within ourselves. It's not something we chose, but, with time, we can grow from it. Ultimately, I guess we have no choice.
