Ive got some questions...

Im a 16 year old female and Ive been to the doctor many many times. They rarely find anything wrong with me. My knees ache after long days, I get pains that switch between my arms, and the muscles in my chest hurt very much when pressed on even gently and often ache in general. My hands hurt and I get headaches in only one side of my head. My stomach is very often upset especially after eating and Im on Atenolol for a fast and irregular heartbeat as well as annoying PVCs. Im am very sensitive to any sort of pain such as if someone were to poke me in the arm or side it is highly painful. Sometimes my jaw aches and i feel like the muscles in my abdomen are stuck in a knot. This is not so bad every day...but most days. Im also very fatigued. I used to sleep for 4 hrs after school and then wake up and sleep another 8. I now have all this anxiety because I dont know whats wrong with me. Ive been looking at possible things and Fibro seemed like it fit. Do my symptoms sound familiar to any of you?

If not. Do you have any suggestions?

I really need answers..Im tired of this being something I cant control. Once I know whats the matter I can get on the road to improving my condition.

Also as a side note...my doctor did a breast exam and found that I have Fibroids in my chest. Does this tell you anything at all?

they tell me its all in my head..that im a hypochondriac...and i stopped drinking caffeine because it irritates my pvcs and heart rate

Hi, and welcome!  Many of us have been told it's all in our heads...even some of our doctors have said that, so you are not a lone. 

 

Check out Fibro 101...the first thread on the forum.  There are links to good information about fibro and you will learn a lot there.  There is a link to a list of symptoms.  You just might "see" yourself there.  There is also a link called What Else Could It Be.  These are other illnesses that have many of the same symptoms of fibro.  A good doctor runs a battery of tests to rule these out before a diagnosis of fibro is given.

 

I have similar chest pains.  I have what is called costochondritis.  There is a link in Fibro 101 all about that, too.  You might want to read this and see if it sounds like what you are going through.

 

You see, not all doctors believe in this illness even though it is recognized by the National Institute of Health, the American College of Rheumatology, and the American Medical Association to name a few.  You need a doctor that treats fibro patients so, if you do have fibro, you can get help.  Talk to your parents about this.  Many here use a rheumatologist but I use a board certified Internist as my doctor. 

 

It sure isn't fun having these problems and no one listens.  We have been there.  I hope you and your parents can work together to find what really is going on with you.  Please let us know what you find out because we really do care about you.

I have a lot of fibrous tissue in my breasts - is that the same thing you mentioned?
