Well my friends,
I am happy to announce that I have completed my chemotherapy for my cancer. My last treatment was about three weeks ago. Now I start my radiation treatments on Nov 17.
The protocol for my type of cancer is five treatments, one time a week for five weeks with internal placement near the cervix. But my doctor feels that since I have a particularly aggessive cancer and to be as sure as we can that we did everything to prevent it from coming back, that we do both internal and external radiation.
So we will start with five times a week for five weeks for external radiation with me being treated face down (fun), Then, three treatments, one time a week for three weeks with the internal placement. The treatments themselves don't take very long I am told, maybe 15 minutes.
I already went in and was measured and tatooed for my treatments. That was weird too. And I am not a fan of tatoos really, so the joke is on me. I was wearing my scarf tied on my head and now with tatoos, my husband said, " Gee, Linda, we should get you a Harley now!" I laughed so hard!! He did buy me a pink baseball cap with the Toyota logo on it the other day. I love that hat!
Oh my hair is growing back!! It's coming in white and wirey. I kinda look like an ostrich. But hey thats ok. All I have to do is don my new and pretty baseball cap.
So, that's it in a nutshell. Thank you all for caring and most epecially for your prayers. I believe in prayers and feel they have gotten me this far. So please, when you're speaking to the Man upstairs, please put in a good word for my body and these treatments. Thank you so much.
I love you all. And God bless you all.
