Hello to my friends on this forum. Hope you are all doing as best you can with all the aches and pain we go through.  I have been about a month on Savella.  Although it has helped me a lot, I have noticed an increase of hot flashes. Horrible hot flashes.  Does anyone know if this is a side effect?  I can't stand the hot flashes.  I also took a bad fall on my wet tile floor today and landed on my back. Bumped the head and back so hopefully tomorrow I won't wake up worse than today.  I sprained my left middle finger on this fall.  I had a small migraine, but took meds and I feel better, but my neck and back are really hurting.

Hi, Simplistic007,

I loved the pain relief I gained from Savella, but I had to stop taking it because of the increase in blood pressure, lack of sleep, and hot flashes. Maybe someone else will know if the hot flashes eventually subside. So sorry to hear about your fall. Hope you feel much better tomorrow, but you might need to see the doctor, especially if you hit your head in the fall. Hope things get better soon. Peace, V

I also experienced considerable pain relief from Savella, but my doctor discontinued it after a month due to intolerable side effects.

I experienced the hot flashes and although they are certainly annoying, that is not what caused me to stop taking the Savella. It was the excruciating vice-grip headaches that I experienced while on Savella that led to my discontinuation.

Isn't it frustrating how a med seems to improve things in one way, only to mess things up in another area? grrrrr... I just want a happy medium. :-)

P.S. Hope you don't have too many side effects from your slip and fall.

Hey there,

I've been on Savella since March and have had some relief. The hot flashes are horrible and I annoy my husband nightly with a fan blowing. The relief I get is worth the cost of a fan. Hope you get to feeling better.
