Frustrated

Evening fellow fibromites:) Few weeks ago I started having sharp pains in my right shoulder with pain down my arm and numbness. I can hardly use it for any length of time because it starts hurting. My rhuemy sent me to pt after my xray showed moderate arthritis. Of course in this all im fighting the fibromyalgia and spondylitis pain in my lower back. So he had sent to mri which I had done and they gave me the results today. Im not sure if anyone here has the same thing or understands but here goes, reversal of the cervical lordosis, multilevel degenerative disc dease, multilevel foraminal narrowing, severe narrowing of the left neural canal, spondyylitic ridging. Okay im no expert but none of that sounds too good. I am a true Christ follower and try to remain strong for my family, however inside I just want to roll in a ball and cry. Im tired of doctors, meds that dont work and Pain! I just dont know if I have anything left to deal with all this. Any thoughts! Thanks for letting me cry:)

Your test results sound like things I have read over on the chronic pain forum. Maybe you can post them over there and they might be able to give you some ideas. You can also do a google search. There are some really good medical sites out there like the Mayo Clinic's, etc. Good luck to you. Lee

Hi, Cricket. I think all that has been going on with you is a bit overwhelming. Take one thing at a time, one day at a time, and talk to your doctor about what all this means. Find out your treatment options. In the meantime, try to give yourself some TLC. A person can only take so much. It is not a character flaw if you cannot be strong all the time. We are human, and some things just get to be too much from time to time. Remember that story about "Footprints In The Sand"? The Lord carries us when we cannot "carry" ourselves. When I get overwhelmend by life I try to remember to say, "Jesus I Trust In You." Sometimes I say it over and over until I get it through my thick head. LOL Hang in there, Cricket. Peace, V

Cricket, I'm so sorry you are in so much pain.  Back problems are so bad.  I suffered with low back pain for years but learned how to carry myself better and that helped me.  I'm sure you will find things to help ease your pain.  Did your doctor suggest physical therapy? 

 

As the other members have said, just take one day at a time.  We can all handle one day.  Try to focus on other things and not think about the pain.  I find that helps it fade in the background some.  Keep looking forward to each new day with anticipation because is could be a good one!  Your faith will help you a lot, too.  I couldn't have gotten this far without having faith and hope for the future.  I'll be praying that you get some relief and some help for these problems.
