Kidney pain

Well the good news is that my fibro has calmed down a bit, but I am having bad lower abdomin pain. I had bad pains about 4 months ago and the did a scan and found kidney stones, but since then none of them have passed and I am still having this awful pain. So I am going to the doc tommroow to see what he wants to do. I am horrified that he is going to say that a stone has gotten stuck adn it needs surgery or something like that. Because I have had a awful experiance with anesthesia and Ia m comvinced that if I ever have any again that i will not  wake up, so I am so scared! Ughhh but going to the doc tommorow so hopfully he will have a idea of what is going on. Wish me luck.

Kat, I'm so sorry to hear about the kidney stones. I have a horrible problem with chronic kidney stones, and I have passed over 30 since I was 15 years old.

If you do have to have a kidney stone retrieval or lithotripsy done it may be an option for you to have an epidural or a spinal block instead of general anesthesia. The last time I was going to have lithotripsy, my urologist wanted to use GA, but I insisted on a spinal. I know it's not an option for everyone, but I do think docs are too quick to want to use GA because it makes things easier for them, not necessarily easier for the patient.
