With cymbalta: What do you take for congestion and break through pain?

HI, Ladies and Gents,

I'm a little leary about taking things with my cymbalta. For those of you that have been on it for a while, what do you take for head colds, congestion, and what have you been prescribed for breakthrough pain? I haven't needed the medicine for pain except I was a little sore this morning. I think that was from sneazing and I always sneaze so hard I throw my back out . I stretched and used icey hot rub and that helped for now.  I have an appt with the rheumy right after Christmas and wanted to get a script for something to take incase I needed it. Tylenol worked for my sore throat but that has never touched the back pain.

Oh what fun times I am having right now..lol. Though I have to say this is the first symptoms that I've had in a LONG time that I KNOW aren't related to fibro. I was starting to think I was immune to everything else.  Thanks

I would go to google and type in something about what congestion drugs are safe to take with Cymbalta. I used to take that, but I never used anything for congestion with it. But, I used lortabs for the pain. Your rheumy may be hesitant to start you out on a narcotic, so you might ask to try Ultram instead. Who knows, it may help. If it doesn't then ask for the lortabs. At least then you can say that you tried things that weren't narcotics first. Good luck and let us know how things go.
