floating lump in back

 Has anyone had a floating lump perhaps a cyst in the lower back to the right of the spine?  I have fibro, DDD, spinal stenosis and my right leg and foot have had pins and needles for 18 months.  The other day my husband gave me a massage and we noticed this floating lump about the size of a 1/2 dollar.  I plan to make an appointment with my dr that is treating my fibro.  Any thoughts?

It's not fibro.  I'm not a doctor but sometimes you can have fatty tumors on your back that aren't anything to worry about but be sure to show it to your doctor.  You don't want to take any chances.

Hi Sawa, and welcome to our fibro family, I have to agree with Sherrine on this one. I don't think it is fibro related but you should definitely bring it up with your dr. Please let us know what you find out.

Sawa, I agree with the others that this does not sound like fibro. My husband has had fatty tumors (Lipomas) on his back before, like what Sherrine was describing. This does sound like what you have, but it is something that you should discuss with your doctor as soon as possible. My husband had to have his removed, as it had gotten into some of the muscles on his back.

Thank you everyone.  I will be calling the doctor tomorrow to schedule an appointment.  What is crazy is after 18 months of intense numbing, pins and needles in my right leg/foot and the first doctor saying it was all in my head and the second saying it is all fibro, maybe it is a spine (hopefully) fatty tumor that is causing the leg problem.  My foot dr saw me for 14 months and gave up too.

The lump sounds a lot like the lipomas. I've had about 10 or so removed, with the latest in my wrist.
Mine burn when they surface, with sometimes they grow fast and other times slow. The wrist one worried
me as it wrapped itself around my wrist in a couple of months. The incision is 3" long and it's the largest
one so far. I'm going back on Lipo-Trim by NOW brand as is helps to shrink them as I've now found about
5 more growing.

I have the tingling and numbness in my right leg from sciatic so I've been back on True Calm and a mix
of calcium, zinc, magnesium and vit. D; both by NOW. Today I made it all through the 8 hours without
my leg going on me so I guess it's finally working. I've been about 3 weeks on it again.

What is it like having these removed?  I had a teeny little precancerous mole removed from my wrist once and it left an inch-long scar and I had to get 3 stitches.  If they made such an incision to remove a little mole, what will happen with the lipoma?

Does that lipnow work?

WOW, Sue!  I've had moles removed several times and have never needed stitches.  Perhaps because it was precancerous they went deeper to make sure they got everything.  I've had precancerous spots on my skin burned off, too, but no stitches.
