Pain in left hand and fingers

I'm not sure why this is hurting so much other than it could be another fibro mystery. My left hand and fingers hurt so bad....all the way up into my forearm. Is this fibro?

Shiela, I get pains in my fingers and thumbs sometimes. It seems to affect my grip, my ability to hold and pick things up, and my overall dexterity. Sometimes, objects will literally "shoot" out of my hands when I try to pick them up. Going to the store gets interesting when I am having problems with this. I also have problems opening jars because of my grip. Sometimes, I will get sharp, stabbing pains in the knuckle on my middle finger of the right hand. They will some out of nowhere, be very intense for a few seconds, and then stop. They might happen several times in one day, and then I might not have them again for several months. It is very strange, there is no swelling or redness, just very intense pain. These symptoms seems to worsen when I am having upper back problems. I have always attributed them to fibro, as there does not seems to be any other explanation.

I've had pain so bad in my right hand, I almost couldn't hold a pen...let alone write.  I was teaching myself how to write with my left hand when it started to go away!  I find if I wait long enough, things go away and something else crops up. 

 

But, when I was having that problem, I couldn't open jars.  I bought a jar key and also those thin rubber disks that help you grip.  I still have problems opening some of these water bottles they have now!  Fibro can make you a humble person because I do have to ask for help.  I've even asked perfect strangers for help!
