Wow I thought I knew what a bad flare up was before. But this snowstorm hit tonight which never happens in alabama. And woooow it brought the pain with it. Every single muscle is tight and knotted and painful. On the plus side my sinus infection is letting up as well as my anxiety. My husband is snowed in three hours away so I've gotten a break from hearing him complain and get mad about my pain.
I also literally burned out my heating pad tonight. Started smoking! shocked well I hope u all are doing good. *soft hugs*

Hi hippychick!

I sure can empathize with you on the weather wrecking havoc with the fibro pain!! We've had a very long cold spell, it warmed up to above freezing for a couple of days and now we're headed into the 'freezer' again. Any my pain level is out of sight.

I'm sorry your home life is not supportive. IMHO it only makes the pain worse. I found that taking hubby along to a doctor visit or two educates him so he can understand what is going on with me and my pain. Another thing I did one time is to ask my husband if he would prefer to not hear about my pain during the days or if he would rather me tell him how I'm really doing. He said he's prefer to know. By giving him the choice it helped me know where his thinking is on the whole deal. Over time I've reduced the amount I tell him about the pain. I mean if we told our friends and spouses exactly how much pain we have and where it is on a daily basis I think we'd all be single and very lonely. No one wants to hear it over and over again but we DO want and need to be understood and loved for the person inside, not for the pain that racks out bodies.

Sorry you are in so much pain hippy, Between the chemo and the winter here in ND I have had to up my Fentanyl Patches to 50mcg's instead of 25 mcgs. I know part of it is from not being as active as I was before but it feels like the energy has been drained from me and it is a constant fight just to stay awake during the day. Sorry didn't mean to make this about me.

I am so sorry about your husband not understanding also. Im sure it would help if you had a decent Doctor that would acknowledge your pain instead of treating you like you were crazy. I hope you find a better doctor soon.

No don't ever apologize for venting..as you see I do it often. And its good to get out of my head sometimes..so I'm always here to listen.

My hubby is usually very understanding but there are times he looks at me like "I wish you would leave it alone for one day.....sigh". I know he cares but on the other hand he gets tired of hearing about it, and, I can relate. We all get tired of hearing the same thing over and over - who doesnt.

But, I can say that taking him to the doctor visit with me help greatly. He went with me to the oral surgeons visit and the surgeon said " I have been at this job for over 20 years and most of the time a person comes in, we evaluate, we treat but once in a great while we are thrown a red herring - you are that red herring. I just don't know what happened or why but I will do my best to help you. (I am referring to the surgery I had to clean out a really bad infection in my jaw bone.)

I think this helped my hubby understand that I really do have medical issues and that they are painful, hard to treat and weigh heavily on me mentally and physically. I do try, though, to not complain about the "normal" ache and pain days.
