Update on the Pain From My Wisom Teeth

Thank you everyone for your replies to my post about all the pain that I am in from the extraction of my wisdom teeth. I went to my local Dentist today and I have really bad Dry Sockett! Uggghhh so frutrating! He packed it and said the pain relief would last about 24 hours and then start back up but he going on a 3 day vacation so I cannot see him again till Monday! He sadi that I will probably have a rough weekend! I am in pain and sick of it. To make matters worse my Fibro is acting up. Why does everything have to always happen at once! THank you to everyone for your replies! I hope that I make it through the weekend ok! Not looking foward to the pain coming back!

I am glad that you at least got an answer to why you are having the pain. I am sorry that it will continue for a few more days. And, yes, it does seem that everytime there is any kind of issue with our bodies the good ole fibro kicks in too.

Sorry to hear about your pain. I went through that years ago when I had my wisdom teeth removed.

If you haven't already tried it clove oil is supposed to work well for dry socket pain. There's a good thread here about it:

Sorry about your dry socket! I know how much pain my husband was in. At least you know what is wrong and have a good idea of when it will feel better.

My fibro kicks in whenever something else is going wrong in my body. It makes things worse. Wish I could make it go away for you. At least we are all together in this.

Thank you everyone! It is 10:30 and I am sitting here in extremem pain both sides of my face adn head. Ugghhh i do not know how much of this I can take! I think that my labor with my children was easier then this! My whole face just hurts so bad! Even my eyes!Tried to sleep but woke up ready to vomit and trembling from the pain!

Sorry, Kat. My daughter got a dry socket, and she said the pain when he repacked it was so bad she literally saw green..?

What pain meds are you on - I really hope something decently strong?

Kitty.

I have had major problems with the molars with my teeth crumbling!! Its like I break a piece off and then the rest of my fillings dont hold up and I loose the tooth and then a dry socket. I have found using just the plain old extra strength oragel works great in numbing. If nothing else its a backup when your are in severe pain. Omg I hate the dentist! get well soon KittyBear.

Oh, bless your heart. Dental pain can be excruciating. Do you have a prescription for pain pills? I know when I had a dental abcess the Lortabs didn't knock out the pain, but they did take the edge off.

Have they told you to stay in an upright position? I don't know if it applies to a dry socket, but it really helped with the pain of an abcess to sleep as upright as possible.

I also second the oragel (or the strongest topical dental pain meds you can find).

I hope you feel better soon. Hang in there. It WILL get better.

Thanks you everyone! I am still just hanging in there and thinking of how much better i will feel when it is all over. I have tried Clove oil it works pretty good burns but it works takes the edge off. My problem is that my mouth is very swollen so it is hard to get anythign in there. Feels like my jaws are wired shut lol. Just going to get through this! Thank you everyone! I did not realize how pain ful this could be!
