I went to my GP to ask about a small mole in my right ear. [I have a check up one a year for suncancer and have always been fine my last was in Nov10]

He took one lookat it touched it, then went and washed his hands and told me to get to see the specialist as soon as I left his office.

One major problem there they are closed too the end of the month, this wa 2 weeks ago and it is now growing larger, and very sore.

Can I have all your prayers please.

Can you go to your GP again and ask him to refer you to someone who is open?

I like Just.me's idea, it'd be awful to wait. u got my prayers that all is fine and its a simple thing.

Hi Kathy,

I also would get back to your GP and start asking questions. Not knowing is torture. I will keep you in my prayers that everything works out fine.

You know I had a mole like that once.... GP used liquid nitrogen and froze the thing off, stuck a bandaid on me and sent off the mole for biopsy. I wonder why he wouldn't do that. I'd sure ask the GP

Praying. I concur with the others. Contact your GP and ask him to get you in to another specialist asap if he feels it is necessary. If you are hurting now and this is a change, head back for a GP appt.

Hello, Kathy,

I so agree with the others. I would call the GP's office and tell them that the specialist is not in office and ask him/her to call another specialist and get you in asap.

Hi Kathy,
You will definitely be in my prayers and like the others have said if the dr. is that concerned about it you need to ask him if there is anyone else that you can see sooner.

My prayers are with you! My daughter had a stage two mole removed from her foot 4 years ago she is only 25 and has to be checked every 6 months. Your doing the right thing getting it taken care of the sooner the better. My daughters wouldn't have gotten to stage 2 if she would have been more persistant with her family docter. He told her it looked fine to him and a year later she finally had it removed. O-and shes an RN herself. It's your health at risk don't take no for an answer.

Kathy, you are in my prayers.  I would see about it as soon as possible.  The wait is sometime worse than the news.

Can you see a dermatologist?  That's who I go to twice a year because I live in sunny Florida.  I had a spot on my ear "burned" off and it didn't get better so they did a biopsy.  I was fine, thank goodness, but I didn't have to wait, either.  But, if this is any consolation to you, my dermatologist said that skin cancer grows very slowly so maybe that isn't what is going on.  But I know I sure would be looking for another doctor...one who cares.  I would "fire" that other doctor.

I would get back in w/ your GP or make an appt w/ a dermatologist ASAP. Pls let us know what is happening w/ you. We are all very concerned.

I just have to wait as the only place local I can see will not be open until Feb, They will not be able to burn it of as it has become too big for that so I wil just have to wait and believe it isnot as bad as my GP seeemed to think. We go on holiday this Thursday for 4 days so that will take my mind off it. Then on the Tuesday just go in and see what they have to say, at least I know from having a small spot cut out of my foot they will seee me asap.
I am going to enjoy packing for this 45 days away.
The owner sent us the views from our town house we have for 3 of us for $360 for the time we are staying.
