Fibro & knee replacement

I have to get at least one knee replacement in the next few months. Has anyone had a joint replaced with fibro? Diane

Not me Diane, though I may have to one day. I have bad knees. Just wanted to pop in and say hello.

Not me either, Diane. But I do hope it will bring you some relief. My guess would be that your fibro will kick up your pain level some so if you can get your doctors on board so they understand that you may needs some extra attention when it comes to pain control it might just help.

Diane, I don't have that problem.  I have had major surgery, though, and didn't notice my pain being any worse.  Actually it was a little better because they had me on Darvocet for several weeks after I returned home.

I'm really not as concerned about the surgery as I am the rehab after. I recovered really quickly from my lap band surgery last May. I guess I'm also concerned about how my fibro will react to a foreign body in my knee. Diane
