First radiation treatment over with

Well friends the first radiation treatment is over and if I wasnt a fibromite it would have been a very simple procedure with no pain. However as us fibromites know laying flat on ones back for over a half hour with arms above your head and unable to move is just cruel torture. lol

Wasn't so sure I was going to be able to sit up much less get off the table. Im feeling ok now though and we even managed to go to Wal-mart afterwards to do some shopping for all my animals. They needed their food and treats lol.

Im feeling fine though so bring the rest of the treatments on.

I'm so glad that it wasn't bad for you, Shirley!  Those tables are so hard so it had to be very uncomfortable but  you sure have done worse things, haven't you!  I'm glad you have one down and I'm not sure how many treatments you have left.  It's all worth it when it works.

Awww Shirley,

I am so happy that you got one treatment under your belt. How often do you have to go? I know it isn't pleasant, but it will be over soon and you will be feeling better.

shirley, sorry but I have to ask.

As you may know/remember, I just got my thyroid out. At first the doctor was optimistic that the cancer was contained in the one nodule and that the surgery/entire removal had taken care of it. Now, after talking to the pathologist he is saying that I also had cancer cells in the right side of the thyroid and that I will need cancer treatment. He is not the one that will administer it and again the full report is not in but he seems to think that I will be given the radiation iodine pill. The only thing that I can seem to gather from what I have read or been told is that I will have to stay away from people for a week.
Have you had the pill? Do you remember how,what,when you felt? And, if I need more than just the pill, what may I be looking forward to??

Hi Denita,my sister in law had thyroid cancer and was treated with the radiation pill. I dont think it made her real sick or anything. The radiation that I get is just like getting an x-ray. I have never had the pills. She had hers about 5 years ago and she is doing fine. If you would like I can give her your e-mail so that she can tell you more.

Just keep positive thoughts and try not to worry too much that is what is keeping me coping.

I am praying for you daily that things go well.
