just got back from hospital!!

My Dc. perscribed Lyrica. So 2 days later I called his office and told them I could not go to restroom. That I felt numb.  His answer, it's Ibs go see your Ibs Dc.

7 days later I still could not go to the restroom, so I had to go to the Emergency Room. X-rays, blood work, urine and cat scan, and other tests. 

Lyrica shut my body down.  Needless to say I am exhausted.

The ER Dc. gave me more med. to take for the next 2 weeks.

I WILL NEVER EVER TAKE LYRICA AGAIN.

If you are just starting out on it, please be careful that it doesn't do the same to you as I.  

Just be careful

Marilyn, I'm so sorry to hear that you had such an adverse reaction to the Lyrica...hoping you feel better soon! We all tolerate meds so differantly. It truly is trial and error with any new med.

Take it easy and get some much needed rest yeah

Marilyn, I'm sorry that you had to go through that it had to be awful. I did not do well on any of those types of meds. Be careful.

I'm so sorry to hear that happened to you. I really hope you begin to feel better soon and that everything goes back to normal soon. How scary! Please keep us all updated on how you're feeling. I'm hoping you get a good night's sleep tonight and feel a little better and well rested tomorrow!

Oh, my! I have never heard of such a serious side effect, Marilyn. I hope you feel better soon. Rest would be a good, good thing for you about now.

Marilyn,

Sorry you went through all that. When you talk about not going to the bathroom are you talking about #2? If so, I had a problem with that too. Wondering now if it was the Lyrica. I have always had problems going to the bathroom but I didn't go for like a week to 2 weeks and was in the hospital 2x in one week. The pain was horrible. Hmmmmm!

I'm sorry you went through this.  Thanks for letting us know.  Another think to keep any eye out for.  I'm glad you are doing better today.

Bubbaryn, Yes It is #2. It is horrible horrible horrible. I am telling you, it's Lyrica. Do you have IBS.
What all did they do in the hospital?
I have to drink that nasty cleanser today. The top of my stomach is swollen.
But it felt like my insides shut down. What did you do to get back regular.
Sounds like you must have got off of Lyrica. If you did get off it, what do you take now.
OMG All I can describe it's like is child birth.

Marilyn, the same thing happened to me (not quite to that extent, but with the childbirth-type pains) when I went gluten-free! Nobody gets that one (why??) but it is very painful indeed. Good that you're off of it.

Sorry to take so long to get back to you, Marilyn. No, I tried Lyrica several months before, and quit it because it just stopped working for me. The only thing I could attribute the constipation to was my different, gluten-free diet. It was extreme.

How are you doing now?
