Wednesday Is A Big Day For Me! OT

I'm going Wednesday for my temperal artery biopsy. They will be checking me out for Giant Cell Arteritis. I really don't think I have it. Recent bloodwork shows I'm ANCA + for autoimmune systemic vascular disease of the smaller vasculitides, something seperate from my Lupus or Scleroderma. Don't know which one yet...there are several types. rolleyes

They are planning to do a little shaving on the side of my head and expose an artery 3'' or more and taking sections for biopsy. I'll be awake for the procedure so it can't be that bad!

I might look like a punk rocker when they get through with me though smhair

Never a dull moment tongue I've had so many procedures in the past, that friends and family call me for a diagnosis smilewinkgrin

Wishing you the best of luck on your procedure! Doesn't sound like any fun, but I agree, if they're not putting you out for it, it can't be too bad. But it will certainly be good to get to the other side.

What color are you going to dye your new punk hair? ;) You have such a great attitude.

Hoping for a good outcome! I will be thinking of you on Wednesday...

Boy, Robin, I can't keep up with you!  You are in my prayers.  I hope whatever they are looking for isn't there.  They will probably pick a spot that will be hidden by the rest of your hair.  If not....punk rocks!  tongue

Sherrine's post just reminded me... If you do end up with the punk look you can make up a fun story about what happened.  Perhaps a mishap while you were being a human cannonball at a recent party - like some people we know (*cough*sherrine*cough*) smilewinkgrin

Thanks for the well wishes! I've been busy today getting laundry caught up and getting grocery shopping done. I'm a little foggy.

Right now, my hair is a short wispy do...lots of textured layers. I'm lucky my hair is really super thick...so I might be able to hide the shaved part. Playing a punker seems kind of fun though, I'm 58. but I like to think this Granny can still rock...that's the Woodstock in me :) My hair is white blonde....so maybe I'll add a couple streaks of hot pink, lol.

I'm hopeful about tomorrow, and trust that whatever comes, God will give me the strength to deal with it. yeah

Hey Robin just want you to know that I am praying for you my friend.

If you do end up with the punk rock look I seriously think you, Sherrine and I should go to the mall with our new and interesting hair styles. You have the punk rock look, Sherrine has the Burnt look and I have the 1/4 inch long look. Can you imagine the looks we woul all get. Of course my Dumbo ears would probably be the focus of attention. They wouldn't even notice you and Sherrine. LOL

Thanks Shirley...My big ole new prednisone moon face would probably give your ears some compertition...lol and I'm sure Sherrine's burnt crispy hair might get a few looks too. We'd make a motley crew...we could always bring Fibroella for the distraction!

I guess it wasn't meant to be on a Wednesday...next Thurday will have to do. At first I was really bummed, that it was postponed, but I find myself thinking about the person who needed the emergency surgery, hoping they are OK.

I do thank all of you, for cheering me on with your kind thoughts and wonderful sense of humor. turn
