Deep tissue injury following surgery from laying on the table

I had back surgery 3 wks ago and ended up with swelling in my right thigh with a hard lump in the center present upon awakening in recovery. I have had 6 therapy sessions with ultrasound, TENS, massage and stretching with only some improvement in range of motion. the swelling is down but the lump remains and my leg aches most of the time. Anyone with a similar experience?

Hi FromMO, I experianced lots of swelling after my back surgery, I had a lumbar laminectomy L4 & L5. My right leg, almost 9 years since the surgery is weaker than my left. It is the leg that sciatica bothers me.

The physical therapy was very helpful...learned some great exercises that I continue to do. Before surgery, my right foot became " dropped" and dragged behind me....I no longer have that problem, but pesky sciatica will rear it's ugly head from time to time. Once your back is bad, you have to re learn lifting and be so careful of anything that is going to torque you spine.
