So I came home from work yesterday and kinda started to feel real yucky all the sudden. I've been having neck pain for at least a month but chalked it up to fibro. Had intermitant sore throat too (chalked that up to a cold/virus). Then yesterday my ears started to ache (dangit!!). I've had ear infections in the past that landed me in the hospital for a week. So yesterday I think to myself "if this is an ear infection brewing, I better get it checked out! I called my PCP and was seen right away. It turns out the "pain in the neck" is enlarged lymph nodes. Been like that over a month. He showed my where to feel the nodules. Also said my throat looked terrible. Then I recalled the day before yesterday, I started having to take a deep breath about every minute and my chest hurt when I inhaled deeply.
I'll have to back up even a few more months. Who remembers me posting about suddenly having trouble swallowing my meds?? And when my daughter walked on my back, there's a certain point between my shoulder blades where she'd step and it would make me cough (never did that before).
Anyway, I'm a little worried now. I knew my PCP would make light of it (as he always does) which is why it took over 2 years to get diagnosed with fibro. The only thing he could think of to do yesterday was a quick strep?!? Ummmm... No, not that. Told you my throat and neck have been hurting for months.. So, of course it was negative. Nurse comes back into the room and says "ur strep is negative, ur good to go home!" wait... What?? No, I'm not good to go home. Let's discuss my plan of a action from here.... So she tells me to call back if I'm still having symptoms in 3 days. What?? That's it?? Ok... Anyway, anyone have any input?
