Chatters...have you ever tried eating gluten free? Malabsorption is one of the #1 issues with gluten intolerance. If gluten is an issue for you, you will not absorb any vitamins properly.
A new study out is saying that 1 in 20 people are gluten sensitive. Our bodies were neaver meant to digest grains and many of us can't eat grains. Every one of your diagnoses can be attributed to a gluten intolerance. I was 45 before we figured this out and have been sick all of my adult life. I still can not get enough vitamins from eating, yet with supplementing, I have gotten my levels up.
Also I would like to touch on B12. Many doctors do not understand B12. A B12 "normal range" starts as low as 200, only goes to 900, I believe. 200 is way too low for anyone and 900 is too low for most. My neuropathy has stopped progressing because I take B12 daily. I am under the care of one of the best neurologists out there and my level is at 1800, he is in total agreement that this level is fine for me. I was taking 5000mcg of sublingual methylcobalamin B12, now am trying to see if my level will stay stable on 2500mcg. We will test again at my next appt in June.
It is true that Vit D needs to be D3. The shots they give you, and the 10,000IU RX pills are not D3. We aren't able to absorb as well from D2. Chatters, are you still taking Vit D by mouth?
