weird arm pain??

I don't know if anyone has felt this before, but it's a little hard to describe. My fibro has been effecting my arms lately esp if I overwork them. My right arm is really bothering me. If I lightly touch my skin on top of my arm (halfway up arm to elbow) I have this sharp pain in my wrist. If I pull my sleeve up, just the sleeve pulling on that part of the arm makes the sharp pain again. It's only in the wirst right around that boney little point that sticks up. It's very annoying! lol. I do not have any tingling or numbness anywhere in the arm. I do have shoulder pain, joint pain. I can't carry my purse because of the pain sometimes. I wondered if it was carpel tunnel, but I don't have any numbness or tingling and it doesn't affect my fingers at all.  Do overworked limbs become really affected by fibro? To me it feels like the muscle or tendons have sharp pain when pulled, but just a light, i mean light touch of my arm on top causes that sharp nerve pain in wrist.

Just wondering if anyone has had this problem before. ???

Hi, I get some intense "pings" like you describe at the most inopportune times.  So far it has been in the backs of my hands when I turn my wrist a certain way.  Not a lot or real often but it has happened.  It feels like an electric shock in the tendon, stops me like right now too.  I am thinking it comes with the fibro territory.

 

I have fibro, also a little carpal tunnel, diagnosed with nerve conduction tests, which I think is worse when the fibro is flaring. Wearing a wrist brace at night seems to stop it from getting worse.

I get bad pain in upper arm at top of biceps, also shoulder pain right at the tip which is caused by tendonitis and bursitis, diagnosed with MRI. This gets worse when I use the arm for even a few minutes of not very hard work like raking. This seems worse during a flare also.

Today I can't lift a cup of coffee into the microwave mounted in the wall over the oven. I know better than to not move the arm though, as I don't want to end up with frozen shoulder! I first tried every anti-inflammatory with no positive results at all. PT made it worse! Pain meds are no cure either. I've had 3 sets of steroid injections, two of which helped a lot, then I use the arm for a few minutes and it'a all back. I see the doc soon, but usually they don't want to give more than 3 steroid injections, so I don't know what will be suggested.

I don't think fibro causes these problems, but it may aggravate and cause more sensitivity to the pain of the existing conditions.

I guess I need a nerve conduction test. I do not want one if it's the test where they stick needles and send a tiny current in your muscle...ewh!! pain. My rheumy wanted me to get one last year and when I went to the specialist to do it (in his office) she said there was no need based on my symptoms it was fibro. (I think prayer helped in that case, cause I did NOT want it LOL). I had a flare this weekend, came on sat evening and lasted all day sunday and this am I feel a little better. It's weird how you can really tell how things are connected together in your body by muscle and tissue pain, feels like a web..lol, even hurt all the way to my finger tips. Then I get the sudden sharp pains in random places in the body. yay fibro fun. NOT lol. Just resting hurt. My arms are really bothering me today. Oh well, off to get my vit b12 shot. Both forearms have hurt beginning las may. They have gotten worse. The dr told me to exercise. Still hurt. Terrible ins and to crazy of a year to go in for tests, but I think I need to. They hurt so bad, sometimes I cannot lift things or to hold a cup I use both hands, drop things all the time. Any clue?

my arms burn constantly, my hands are numb,, my legs dont work right,, todaywhen I went to the bathroom,, it looked like I hadent gone in a month,, there was so much, and its hard to get out,, I just have a hard time thinking all this is fibro related,, and it makes me think that a lot of us here are suffering from something else,, not saying fibro doenst exist,, becsue I have had every test you can think of, but something is worng,,

No, I dont think its all fibro related,, today my arms are useless,, all the fingers are numb and my hands are curling in, all the way up the arms they just hurt,, its like they have a mind of there own, as for bowel movements,, I dont know whats going on,, I do get a lot of gas,, but I will go from constipation to diarehha,, to a stretch about amonth ago where i passed nothing but mucos for about a week,, from the knees down I feel nothing but zaps and tingles,, but teh arms are geting to be the worse,, they just dont work,, and my fingers jst stab at the keyboard,, no fine morot contro, I dont dare shave,, I cant lift my arms,, and I know I will cut my self to ribbons
