Shoeless, I think I'd just tell them that you feel uneasy about it and want to think about it. Then drop it. You don't have to do anything they suggest. If they are professionals, they shouldn't treat you differently. If they aren't, you need to find a professional doctor that treats fibromyalgia.
I have a board certified Internist who has suggested Lyrica and Savella to me. I'm not willing to take them and told him so. He dropped the subject but still gives me excellent health care. You need a doctor like that. Don't put anything in your body that you don't want to. This is a free country and you are the boss and it's your body. You would be the one to suffer any bad side affects...not them. Remember, when you see a doctor, you are hiring them for their services. Just use your good judgement. You might decide sometime down the road to try botox but is should be YOUR decision.
I've had fibro for 24 years...this month, actually!
Did you read Fibro 101...the first thread on the forum? There are a couple of great links you might want to print out and give to your family that don't believe you. The links are Doctors Respond to New York Times Article and also A Thorough Explanation of Fibromyalgia. This might help them understand. Sometimes, nothing helps them understand. It's best to just let it go. You know you have this pain and your doctors do too. So just ignore others as best you can. You don't want to stress over their ignorance of fibro because that will only make your pain worse.
Now, can you do me a favor? Please do not write your posts in all capital letters. It is considered yelling! I didn't know that. Also, it's very difficult to read and it also is against our forum rules...Rule #15. Thanks!
Please let us know what YOU decide to do with your own body. We really do care about you.
