I have been reading all the posts on here today and feeling pretty down the weather is not great [wwinter here]

So what makes me smile? Our Mini Foxie Belle when we eat she sits begging for food looking like her life will end if she does not get a titbit too eat. [She needs to go on a diet she is so fat]

Our Grandson when he goes to Poppy for his bucking ride on Poppies legs.

Watching the parrots feed their babies in a tree outside our lounge room window.

Helping a very disabled friend shop for clothes when she has not been able to go for about 6 months.

Listening to our 4 [adult] children tease each other over silly things they did as small children.

Sitting under my electric throw rug when it is really cold and wet outside.

It is these little things that make life  interesting.

Thank you for the topic. My beautiful flowers and waking up to American flags in the yard this week. Ace hardware puts them in your yard each year. I guess I need to appreciate the cool Alaska temp. Instead of 100 degrees. I need positive reinforcement today.

Yes it's winter in ballarat today for sure, what makes me smile my grandson bryden whose 16 months old, my two little fluffy dogs and my wonderful hubby who got me my heated blanket....mmm lovely

I'm in a deep rut so it's hard to pick out something to smile about today. After giving it some thought, I decided that it's the Healing Well board that makes me smile. It makes me feel as though I'm not alone. Thank you everyone!

My kids, my grandkids, sunshine, music, the ocean, friends...lots of things make me smile. smilewinkgrin

Waking up makes me smile!  tongue    My precious dog by my side, my beautiful gardens and all the flowers blooming, the squirrels chasing each other and even eating the flowers off my hibiscus bushes make me smile.  Watching children outside having a great time makes me smile.  My three attentive adult children give me joy.  Knowing I have another day on this beautiful earth makes me smile.  Golly, I could go on and on.  I do smile a lot and it's fun because people wonder what I've been up to!  LOL

Beautiful idea for a thread!

Here are a few things that make me smile:
-The way my cat gives me kitty kisses after I've been away from home for too long.
-How the sky looks when the sun is rising.
-The way my bf kisses my forehead while I'm asleep.
-Getting a massage! Helps tones with FM pain too.
-Swimming on a hot day.
-Lazing in the sun.

I could go on forever :)

Things that make me smile:

* having our granddaughter over for a "sleepover"
* taking our grandson camping
* having coffee outside as the sun comes up
* grilling dinner outside
* football season

just a few, I am very lucky and try to stay positive!

seeing my husband after he's been gone overnight
our sweet cats and dogs just being themselves
the leaves blowing in the breeze outside
being able to walk around the block
finding great bargains at ARC
realizing I can just heat up something for supper !!

when my grandbabies yell "nana" when they come over and are so excited to see me even if it was only yesterday they saw me.Thinking of the day me and my husband got married and how we were then.Coming up with something hilarious to say.My mom and my grandaughter had a toast with pop in it and said heres to nana feeling better.

My list includes
-My super brave seven year old daughter and how she allready knows what she wants and how she wants it
- My extremely caring 10 year old son, i am positive that he should go on to become a doctor, he basicly is one for me allready!
-My boyfriend covering me up at night and kissing my forehead for nice dreams.
- days in my mums garden watching the cats, the dog and the chickens.
- Music and books ,(though the latter will simetimes leave me weaping as well!)

THANK YOU for this post! I do this every day...my gratitude list and you would be surprised how much it helps your mental well being...I would never have believed it, until I tried it myself:

My grandson...I have four, but especially the oldest who is almost 9 - we have such fantastic connection, so very very close. When I hear him say "Nana"...gosh, what it does to me...my heart swells and I can't help but feel wonderful...If only he lived here...they all live on the west coast and I'm here in Illinois...

My dogs...I have three Golden Retrievers and waking up to them every day brings me almost as much joy as my grandsons

I could go on but those are my two favorite...
