problem with family doc

i recently moved to arkansas from miss. to take care of my parents. i have bipolar 2 and take 3 meds. i have been unable to find a head doc lol cause no insurance so i went to a md in seacry ark. i had 2 visits with him. records in hand. he seemed to automatically think i was a pill head. meantime went to er with terrible pain all over my body. er doc said in his opinon had fibro. referred me to clinic did blood work. came back elevative c reactive protein elevated. meaning inflamation in body. so he has referred me to rhemo. who in his packet of forms state he does not do disability. every day is a painfull struggle and most days im in bed cause im so tired. so i went back to md 2 days ago. for refils on meds all my recent records with me. asked for bipolar meds and told him rheumo doc said to ask for fibro refils. cause my appt. isnt till 8th. he flatley refused i said ok. upon leaving the exam room he said i cant help you tore up my presciptions i asked why he said he didnt like my attitude! ***?.so i proceeded to front office told them what happend and ask for my re ords from them. which was supposidly mailed today. today i received in the mail a letter from them stating they would not be treating me anymore? wyf again? also i did mention filing for disability. could that be it? and how can he be ugly to me and not treat me? confused. rheumo doc appt. refuses to do disability what should i do? i stay in pain and cant do anything tired all the time. smart thing though i hired a lawyer right waway so they are helping me with everything. any advice?

I am not far from Searcy, AR. I'm sorry you are going through this. I use a nurse practitioner in Newport and a rheumatogist in Jonesboro. They are both wonderful. Keep searching for a good doctor. They do exist. It's just hard to find one sometimes. Best wishes.

It's very late and I can barely see the keys...lol...but I wanted to give you some information. When you need a good doctor and it seems they've all vanished from the planet, I suggest you go to a local university/teaching hospital and medical center.

In the Fibro 101 topic at the top of the list is a link so you can find the ones closest to you. There is a wonderful one in Little Rock which appears to be a reasonable drive from where you are located. The link below is to their center. Just give them a call and tell them what your needs are and they'll set you up with the appropriate doctor for your conditions. They won't give up, treat you like a 'druggie' or blow you off. I am so sorry for your problems. I really hate going to the dr's because I have that problem to. I got my disability on my own, but I recommend a lawyer. It took a lot of phone calls and faxing my own DR's note to the social security place. I would recommend one big thing to you, make sure you are sitting right in front of them when filling out forms. They get in a hurry and forget your history and mark something that is not true. I would always tell them to let me see it first before sending it. I have had my DR's correct many things before. One example is that I can't lift more then 5 pounds, but he put hat I lift ovet 20 pounds frequently. I have a 3 level cervical fusion. Good luck because it's a long journey, but worth it.

Welcome, Jackie. I'm sorry you've been treated so badly by your new doctors.

And what a loving daughter you obviously are, to relocate in order to care for your parents. You'll find someone good if you just keep looking, as Chutz said, though I know that's not easy.
