Hi, McFibro, and welcome! I'm glad you found us and joined in. I know. Our symptoms are quite weird, aren't they! It does make you think there HAS to be something else wrong but usually it's good old fibro at work. You do eventually become more accustomed to this and just go on with your life. I've been able to do some pretty neat things since acquiring fibro and I just bet you will too!
Have you checked out Fibro 101....the second thread on the forum....yet? There are links to good info about fibro and you will learn a lot there.
I know with the older members, I sound like a broken record but since you are a newbie, here goes! I use malic acid/magnesium supplements and vitamin D3 supplements for pain and fatigue of fibro. These have helped me a lot and they have helped other members, too. What works for one doesn't necessarily work for another but these might be worth a shot. I passed this past my doctor and he said they were fine. There are links in Fibro 101 about these and how they work in your body.
Also, you need to keep moving with fibro. If you sit or lay too much, you will be stiff as a board and have more pain. There are gentle stretching exercises on Fibro 101 that really help. Also, I walk daily as a gentle exercise and feel better and more energetic when I get home. Swimming is good too along with yoga. But I think you will find you will have less pain if you do gentle exercises daily. It won't happen overnight but it does happen.
I'm looking forward to getting to know you better. Don't hesitate to ask questions because we are here to help you. I hope to hear more from you soon.
