I have switched from nights to days for going down south with my loving hubby to visit my father in-law and we leave tomorrow. Since Friday I have felt like crap. I had to stay up about
27 hours to flip and prep for the trip, ie laundry. We went to the local renaissance festival yesterday, in costume (corset) and I got sunburnt pretty bad. I also didn't eat hardly yesterday cuz I was so hot all I could do was drink pop and water. We also went from 9am to 6pm and sat at a lot of live shows. the festivals banches aren't too friendly to us fibro patients so my butt feels like I have saddle sores and just packing the clothes for the 9 day trip hurt my sunburn and my elbows which normal don't hurt. so I'm exhausted from a rough 3 weeks at work. I'm couch so hard and roughly I think I'm sick but no other symptoms. just a dyer need to drink hot cocoa. so I need the happy gentle motivation to come out of my comfortable hole in the ground and go to a place outside my comfort zone to family that I rarely see so they really don't know how to handle my fibro. I don't want to make my husband feel like crap because of heat stroke and fibro pain.

Egads! You do have a full plate, all right. What you describe makes ME want to hide in bed. I'll send you some gentle motivation, and hope you get it!! ;) Maybe somehow it won't be as hard as you think. Sometimes it's the things we don't see coming that hit us hardest, you know?

I hope you have a wonderful time!
Allow yourself the comfort of believing that this trip will be very enjoyable and lots of fun.
I think you will.

I livr near Atlanta & I've been to that Renfest so I know how that is. Fun but physically rough. I can give you a little tip to make your return from your upcoming trip a little easier. Take a roll of quarters with you & before you pack for home, take all the laundry to a laundromat -- that way it gets done faster in large loads & will be all clean & folded when you get home.

Travel is one of the things I do best. In a couple of weeks we're hitching up the 5th wheel and hitting the road for 2 weeks. I'm so looking forward to it. But I am able to stop when needed...hubby is great about
that. Plus I have my own bed, food and other comforts right with us. For us it's how we love to travel. I'm no so sure how I'd do having to sleep in strange, uncomfortable beds, etc. I suppose we could take extra soft bedding along like those thick mattress pads or foam 'crate' thingies...lol Slip it under the sheets but just don't forget to take it when you leave!
I do hope you travel well and please try to relax and have a good time. I find when I do the worst is when I'm expecting it. Self-fulfilling prophecy.
