Debilitating FATIGUE!!!

Ok so I have had severe fatigue in the past and right when I thought it was completely unbearable I had a vitamin D deficiency so bad it caused me to have a seizure. Im taking 5000U of vitamin D a day and Im feeling this overwhelming fatigue again! Im not staying up late, barely staying afloat in school. I should be studying right now and all I keep thinking is I wanna sleep. ugh.
Anyone else?

In my opinion, the fatigue is the absolute worst symptom. I assume you are taking Vitamin D under a dr's care? There are more studies coming out now about Vitamin D being way overused and the problems it is causing. On the other hand, a Vitamin D deficiency is very common in people with fibro and definitely helps if taken appropriately under dr's care. One of the other things I find causes fatigue for me is sugar -- if I have some type of dessert or sugar you can just count me out for the rest of the day. Chemical additives also create problems. Are you taking any B12? I would suggest trying to eat as "clean" as possible, and maybe also look into some herb supplements like rhodiola? Good luck, I know it's frustrating!

I believe that B12 has helped me as well with fatigue. I added B12 then magnesium & zinc & have been doing a bit better. But you know, it's so hard to tell sometimes, if something has really helped, or if it was coincidental. I also get draggy after sugar.

I am looking into the B vitamins myself. I started taking calcium supplements and I have had a huge improvement with pain in my feet and muscle spasms. I will give the magnesium and calcium the credit.

You might not be getting restorative sleep. You might want to talk to your Dr. about a sleep study to see if that's what's going on. Good luck to you.

You might want to share this info with your doctor.  Not everything is associated with fibro.

 

I've had extreme fatigue, weakness, etc. for seven months.  I chalked it up to fibro and blood sugar that was out of whack.  (I'm diabetic)  Nope.  It turns out I'm anemic from a bleeding ulcer and am now being treated for it.  I hope to be feeling much better soon.  Yes, I did share all of this with my doctor seven months ago but he wasn't listening to me.  He'll be listening to me at my October appointment...you can bet your life on that one!

 

So, let your doctor run some blood work on you and see if there is an underlying condition causing this.
