Sorry for posting so soon after my cold weather question, but I met with a doctor today and she prescribed me Lyrica.

(she also gave me a referral to see a rheumatologist, which made me so happy because, finally I get to meet a doctor who knows about fibro! And won't look at me like "hey it's all in your head darling!")

From what I understand it's epilepsy medications used in fibro?
What can you tell me about it?

Got good results? Bad? It changed your life for the best? Or worst?

Don't worry about posting too much! That's how we all get to know eachother :)

Lyrica worked well for my pain - for about 3 weeks. Then, poof - over... disappointing.

I am not sure on the epilepsy meds used for fibro. I do have a history of seizures, but never taken them for fibro. Sorry no help here.

After being on it for over a year Lyrica did nothing for me at all; the good thing about it, I suppose, is that I did not have any side effects, either! It is commonly prescribed for FMS.

My rheumatologist put me on Lyrica several years ago. It seemed to increase my pain, lessen my hours I was able to sleep, and made me feel as if I was in a daze.

Keep us posted on how you do.

I just had my Lyrica increased because I started to have horrible feet pain. It helped for a bit but I'm still in pain but I'm on other meds so not sure if that effects it much. I think I'm gonna have to see a rheumatologist because my primary care doctor is not cutting it anymore.

I have been on lyrica for almost 2yrs. Little by little i retained water so much that they finally had to put me on one pill of 150mg a day and I am sure they will stop it all together soon.

I retained so much water that my leg sprung a leak. Water actually flowed from a hole in my calve. That was the only problem i had from it. This has been the only med i have been on.

I went through horrible withdrawals for a few weeks after they lowered my lyrica. It put me in massive pain. Now I am back where i was (pain wise) before they lowered my lyrica which means, lyrica didn't help me like i thought it did. hmmmm

I need to think more on my meds.
