New Diagnosis...by accident

I had been sick for months - eventually the docs figured out I had tons of gall stones and they laparoscopically removed my gall bladder. Once they got in there they found out I had endometriosis. My doc said I've probably had it for about eight years and never knew it. (I'm 24) If my gall bladder hadn't gone bad they might not have found it for years and these lesion things just would have kept growing. I'm posting this on here because I never knew it because of my fibro. I have pain all the time and I never separated out abdominal pain from the rest of my pain. I've had symptoms this whole time (my doc supposes) but never once mentioned anything to a doctor and still wouldn't even think to now knowing that I have it because of the fibro. I think that freaks me out more than the actual diagnosis of endometriosis. Its like I want to tell everyone to be careful and be on a lookout even for the little things but how can we really tell when fibro gives us so many symptoms? In a way I'm thankful for my gall stones because right now I'm at a "maybe" I can have kids instead of if the endo was left untreated for years I might have just had a "no" you can't have kids. That procedure is the only way they can even find endometriosis - sometimes its weird how things work out - if you call it working out lol.

I hope that part of your pain will ease now that they have taken care of the lesions. I had 2 laparoscopies for endo, both for my first 2 pregnancies. The first time, we had tried for 4 years to get pregnant. I had just about given up hope when a month after my surgery, I was pregnant! Same with #2, we tried for a year, so I went back to the same doctor. He performed another laparoscopy and a month later I was pregnant again. And pregnancies do help with it... I had 2 more children after that, without help from surgery. So please don't think that it will be impossible to have children :)

but yes, it is so easy to blame everything on fibro...
