I found Lisa in another thread and didn't want her to get lost there. Welcome, Lisa!

I have suffered for over a year now myself and YES, it waxes and wanes............... I have literally tried everything and have found this is what works for me. I take Cymbalta, Tramadol, (Norco only when desperately needed), flexeril, ambien, wellbutrin and ACUPUNCTURE! I have found ACUPUNCTURE to be INCREDIBLE! I have also done Physical Therapy, which helped some too. My doctor suggested to get out of the house and walk every day, even if only for 5 minutes. I have a gentle yoga and tai chi dvd that I can do at home when I feel up to it. The key is NO IMPACT exercise such as the two above and also you can take a gentle water aerobics class and just go at your own pace. I have BioFreeze also which works topically and the fragrance disappears after a short while. This horrible illness (disorder, disease, syndrome…whatever you want to call it) can steal your life from you if you allow it to. The hardest part of having fibromyalgia (other than the obvious pain & fatigue) is the loss of my job due to excessive absences and tardiness, accepting my new limitations in life and acceptance of literally having fibromyalgia. When I finally accepted this new reality, I made new boundries for myself and others in my life. LOVE YOURSELF ENOUGH TO TAKE OF YOURSELF AND KNOW YOUR LIMITATIONS!! God bless us all as we live this life and try to have peace of mind, joy, and not allow the guilt of feeling like a burden to our loved ones become overwhelming!
