Catter had renal failure. The vet said she had a month at most, but that she would not be particularly comfortable. We made the decision to leave her dignity intact. She was a very proud cat.
She joined me in September of 1994. She was living under my front porch. It took me two months to befriend her and lure her into my apartment. She didn't like that, and made escape attempts. I always got her back with treats.
Scratch your fur-friends for me. Blessings to all.

I'm so sorry. You made the right decision, as difficult as it had to be. She isn't suffering now.

My heart goes out to you. That was a really difficult decision, but at least she won't suffer.

I had to euthanize an elderly cat we had. She was like our first baby, as we had her before we had our kids. It was very hard. You gave Catter a much better life than most cats have, and you loved her enough not to let her suffer. You made the right decision.

My daughter and I did a memory scrapbook page about
our cat. That really helped us remember the fun times & celebrate her life.

It's so hard - hoping you don't suffer too much now.

I am truly sorry to hear that. I am thankful she didn't have to suffer. I like applevenus idea about
the scrapbook.

RIP Catter. You made the right decision. It is hard, I know. But no suffering this way. I had a hard time putting down my dog this spring, but I knew I had to do it. It is the right thing to do.

thanks for the thoughts, everyone. I am sad, but I know I did the right thing and am at peace with it. She was a good friend.

Myself, I am very sad for you as I am and always have been a cat lover and owner. If a pet is facing pain and suffering I think it's the right decision. You gave her a safe and happy life and I'm sure she lived longer than if you hadn't rescued her. You can be sure she's ok now.
