I really should just save my comments for every time this topic comes up. :)
We had a Sleep Comfort bed from 2004 to 2009. I am about
60 pounds heavier than my husband. If you and your spouse have a big difference in weight, don't get a Sleep Comfort bed. I like a softer mattress and he likes a firmer one, and when he would come to my side of the bed to cuddle, he said he felt like he was falling off a shelf. Also, after a while, my hips started hurting really bad (probably because of the softer setting), AND, because of my weight, the side support, which is only like 4" of foam, started bulging out.
In 2009 we bought a Comforpedic Mystere mattress. It is hands down the most comfortable mattress I have ever slept on. My husband can sleep on anything, but he complained that when he turned over, the mattress was cold; however, I'm hot natured and was going through menopause when we first bought it, and I thought it trapped heat. Hubby bought a mattress warmer for this winter and I think it makes the bed less comfortable. They warned us about
that when we bought the mattress, that a thick mattress cover could make it less comfortable. I think we may buy a single mattress warmer and then jerry-rig it, sewing it to a sheet so that it will tuck in on my side. Then we can have the best of both worlds.
Here's a link to it:
www.simmons.com/products/brands/comforpedic/mystere.htmlIf you don't have enough money to buy the Comforpedic mattress, I'll tell you of a pillowtop mattress that was very comfortable that we slept on when we went to see my in-laws. It's the "Mimi" by Sleep Design. We slept on it a week when we were there and it was pretty comfortable. Since I've had fibro I haven't been able to sleep on a regular mattress. We went from a waterbed to the Sleep Number bed and then to the Comforpedic. When we have the money, I'd like to get one of the "Mimi" style beds for our guest bedroom and get rid of the Sleep Number. The grandchildren are hard on it.
Unfortunately, when I searched for the Mimi online, all I could find was my old healing well posts. I sure wish this forum was closed.
