Hi, Always Wondering If, and welcome! This sounds a lot like fibro fog. We have cognitive memory problems with fibromyalgia. Sometimes a word is on the tip of our tongue but we can't remember. Concentrating can be difficult, too. I try to play games that requires me to use my memory...like Bridge.
Here is a cute link about fibro fog.

There is a really good book called The Memory Book by Harry Lorayne and Jerry Lucas. You can find it on Amazon quite cheap. I read that years ago and use some of those techniques to help with my memory and focusing. Of course there are Post-It notes, too!
I'm not sure if I welcomed you before so I do want you to know about Fibro 101...the second thread on the forum. There are links to good info about fibro and you will learn a lot there. Good starting links are called Symptoms and A Thorough Explanation of Fibromyalgia. All of the info on Fibro 101 is helpful.
I'm looking forward to getting to know you better. Don't hesitate to ask questions because we are here to help you. Hope to hear more from you soon.
