I will start it off, let's all share so we can learn from each others experiences.
Our scariest foofoo (fibro) flare:
My scariest flare up was when I was at physical therapy for a flare up in a swimming pool. Foofoo decided to do a 200 degree turn for worse.. while in the deep end of that dang pool. I lost all my leg function, couldn't even stand on my own. I am a confident and strong swimmer and former life guard so I knew I wouldn't drown but the loss of my legs terrified me. I didn't know why, I didn't know what happened. I told a physical therapist that was near by. They went and got a couple people, and I swam to the shallow end to the stairs with just my arms. They decided to have me stand up.. well attempt. I fell back into the water so they had to actually lift me out of the water and put me in a wheelchair. After I showered with aide from a female therapist, my therapist examined me and was able to determine it was the foo foo. I had that happen a total of 3 times while I was in the pool.
Our best foofoo flare:
At the time I had 2 roommates and 3 kids living with me during my best flare. I would say "honey come here" and my son (not biologically, but his mother lost all rights and custody for abuse so I became surrogate mom) and my special angel of bipolar, asperger's and adhd came running "what mommy" I told him go get daddy. Daddy helped me walk, stand, would even put my feet up, cook, clean, serve me food whereever i was. I usually was either on the couch or my bed unless I had to go to the restroom. Anyhow, I really appreciated all the help, pampering, waiting hand and foot on me that they did. They did that for a week til I was actually starting to move again.
So whats your best and scariest flare?
