Yesterday we went to the Washington Post's annual hunt, a big scavenger clue hunt throughout downtown DC.
Left home around 10 am to get to the park at noon, walked around for three hours, then another hour and a half in the park to conclude the festivities. All done, we likely walked about five miles.
The weather was perfect, I dressed appropriately, we carried water, apples, and nuts. There were rest stops as we tried to figure out the clues. It only really became a problem at the end as we were heading back to the park. I had been having trouble with the tops of my ankles recently, and my legs started to rebel after a bit. once I could sit down in the nice park on some grass, all was well.
We had stopped for some frozen yog there at the end, and I had a hard time eating, walking and not bumping into pedestrians, and being aware of the street signals. It seemed as if I could do one thing- walk. Or eat. Or pay attention to my surroundings. The gentleman said I really slowed down. Apparently, FM and multitasking does not work.
Chinese food for dinner, a hot bath, and a good sleep.
Do something you don't normal do! And enjoy!
