SSD and Fibromyalgia

I think if they consider you not able to work you can. I have heard of people with fibromyalgia getting it. The best thing to do is have an appointment with a rheumy and have their report on your side. I hope that you get the disability.

Nanna- sounds like you want to try to get on disability. I have heard some getting disability with a Fibromalgia diagnoses. It doesn't happen the first round and most likely you will need a lawyer. I was suffering from severe depression at the time I applied. The pain was keeping me so depressed. I couldn't see any hope to go on at the time. I had huge medical diagnoses and that didn't seem to matter with them. It was my Psy. Dr. that got my disability for me. I didn't use a lawyer, but I was blessed to have a Dr. that cared for me and help me get my disability. All my other Dr's just filled out what was required. I watch her fill mine out and she went beyond what was required. It made the difference. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask me.

I'm in kind of the same boat. I work full time and have a hard time making it through the day. I can't go part time as
I would lose medical coverage. I have RA, fibro, lupus, 2 trashed knees, spinal stenosis, bulging discs, degenerative
arthritis and bone spurs in spine, nerve damage in the L5-S1, sciatica, scoliosis, knots forming on the finger joints,
tons of lipoma (have one large one in right wrist that's effecting the nerves in my hand), situs inversus (upside down heart)
and tons of other things. How hard is it to get disability with all these things??? Thanks for any kind of help.

Angel, thank you for the info. My brother and sister are on SSI along with a niece. I'd talk to them but I'm kinda the odd one out
of the family. I've had arthritis since I was 7 and was diagnosed at 25....33 years ago. I've done heavy work most of my life
with farming, factory and now nursing home kitchen.

My test for lupus was a high end of 9 and I was a 13. Off the charts from what I gather. The RA runs in my family and my
nephew was diagnosed at 2 with other family members showing signs since 6 and up. The muscle spasms are a pain in the
butt and I wake up most nights with them. I end up for a few hours and take a skelaxin and wait for it to kick in. I have to
get up for work at 4 in the morning and am at work at 5:30 I'm still doing my 8 hours a day but it is so hard now. What is
a kicker is when the 18 year olds don't understand why I'm slower than they are...to which I tell them...come back in 40
years and let's see how well you move. I find a sense of humor helps as it's not so cool when I break down on the job and
am fighting back tears cause it hurts so bad. Not a whole lot of sympathy from the younger generation.

I'm looking into a blend of amino acids to see if it would help the issues as the guy at the herbal shop said a lot of people
with fibro and lupus are deficient in the acids. Let you know what I find.
