My sons had a birthday party yesterday at our local state park, and it was a beautiful day for it. We grilled, hung balloons, and since they are 13 and 14, the group of kids went the short distance to the lake and swam, played volleyball, badminton, and ran around like idiots at some points. We had a great turnout of family and friends, and I got to see the pregnant mother of my god son!
But my question is, does anyone else end up having a flare after overdoing it? I set up charcoal in the grill, carried some things I shouldn't have, inflated helium balloons, walked more than I am easily capable of, and sat on hard picnic table benches until my husband brought my comfy chair. I socialized a lot, which made up for standing there in pain, but shortly after we arrived my joints began to ache and swell, and my shoulders, neck and upper body grew worse and worse as the day went by. My husband said that after 4 hours had gone by, it began to look as if someone was pulling me down by the neck. All of the family and friends know my many medical issues and no one said anything bad, I just feel funny about my posture because my abdominal muscles are affected by adhesions (scars)attached internally in the pelvis and abdomen to my organs, which makes it hard to stand or walk for long.
I had plenty of water, very little soda, none of the foods that usually cause more pain for me, and stayed in the shade most of the day, yet I am flaring badly. I got little continuous sleep last night, just up about 30 minutes after every hour of sleep. Another friend I have with fibromyalgia agrees that for us, humidity increases the joint pain and stiffness. Is that true for anyone else?
Thanks to anyone who reponds!
