Frustrated, and update

It has been a rough few months for the family.

I head out West tomorrow for a few weeks, for my sister's memorial service and to help clean out her belongings. I finalized the date here for a memorial service, and have started the wheels in motion.

My mom (recent masectomy and then infection) is apparently headed home today from the rehab place. This is good.

My brother told me he is starting therapy due to depression. He and his wife are the primary caregivers of Mom, for I live and work three hours away. My sister's death and mom's health are overwhelming, for all of us.

I started therapy myself, and am taking an antidepressant med, to good results. Of course, I can only see my therapist once a month right now, since I am in my home state, and not the state I live in, for the summer. I drive down to my apartment once a month, and do various doctor's appointments. The new semester starts mid-August, so then I can see him more often.

My relationship has been a little rocky recently, after six years in seperate cities, the tumult in my life, as well the resulting depression and anxiety.

I am upset today because I just went for my morning visit with Mom, And found out that she was being released tonight. No one told me. There is a good reason for that, and a not so good one. I don't turn on my cell phone, because I do not like cell phones and wish to only use it as an emergency contact, and my bf's home phone has been acting oddly for the past month, and we haven't really fixed it yet (for a variety of reasons... A few of which I can accept responsibility for). I am best contacted through email. My sister-in-law is a little passive aggressive and after afew recent run-ins, seems to have chosen to not inform me.

Now, I can be happy that she works to take care of my mother, and works to
take care of my brother. I can even be happy that she has a fulfilling life and job. But she and I have a rough time getting along at the best of times, and
disagreements are usually not resolved because she wants her way, and I do not do well with confrontation. Also, if my brother and I talk about something and agree about something, I often come to find out later that my sis-in-law
has decided something completely different.

So, I am angry right now. So much fun!

I am sorry, Myself.  I understand - my SIL and I don't get along very well, either.  Talk about domineering  !!  The whole issue of taking care of parents is hard.  There are so many deep emotions involved.

I suppose in a family where everyone gets along swimmingly, it might not be that way, but it sure was in my family.  I don't know if I'll ever fully get over it, to tell the truth.

Well, I hope things go as well as possible for your sister's service.  You really have been through the wringer, haven't you?
