I usually don't go too far from home, anymore. I have always loved maps, have a pretty good sense of direction. I have been the navigator on our trips thru the yrs. Now of course, I need not only my glasses, but a magnifying glass to see the tiny, itty-bitty print. My DD has had a GPS for several yrs as she, bless her heart, has no sense of direction. She offered it to us for an outing we had about
a yr ago. GOOD GRIEF!
She had to program the thing because neither DH nor I could figure the thing out. She also loaded it to get us home. Sounds simple, right? HAHAHA.
The first time the female voice spoke, it sounded like a teacher my DH had as a boy. So we nicknamed the voice - Sr. Mary Agony. The 'ding' to tell you to turn sounded right as we hit the corner, so we had a few Bat Turns. That was fun. We missed a turn and it told us to turn around - safely- as quickly as possible. We were hysterical the whole ride up, and we just followed the same path home. I remembered all the turn offs. Yay me.
DD asked how we liked it, wasn't it sooo much easier to get places w/ it? We thanked her for her kindness, said we had fun. We just got an updated map and our magnifying glass all cleaned up and ready to go.
My children laugh and say 'Here comes Mom, bursting into the 21st century'. Oh well, I can't remember all the step by step instructions. I know the 'on' button for the computer, so I'm good! lol
God bless. Alice.
