AD's and rising Glucose levels

Can my rising fasting glucose #'s be related to the new Rx for Citalopram (CeleXa)?

I think it is some sort of insulin resistance issue having to do with my liver disease but someone I know suggested it may be the new Rx I started about 3 weeks ago. Before my HCV Tx I was always in the low 90's but the last 3 tests were 102, 107 & 1 week ago...115.

I have a call in to my doc but wondered if anyone had this issue or maybe is it related to fibromyalgia and carb processing?

Donna, drugs work differently with each person.  I am diabetic and I used to take Celexa but it didn't raise my blood sugars at all.  I would let your doctor know what is going on.  Have you been checked for diabetes at all?  People can have it and not know it!  I didn't realize I had it until I went in for an exam, they did a urine culture, and I was spilling sugar into my urine.  I had absolutely no idea this was going on.

Sherrine is right, talk to your doctor. I take one that can cause blood sugars to go up. So I have to be extra careful... I hope you get them under control. Years ago anything under 110 was okay. Now it is 100 I believe. Not sure about the lows now.

I think that the doctor would be the best one to talk to this about. I hope that you don't have to start worrying about your blood sugars now.

Thank you...I called the dr's office but as usual they didn't call me back. I think I will call again tomorrow and just make an appt.
