Hi, Soldout4Jesus, and welcome! You might want to see a rheumatologist. I did this winter because of worsening back, hip, and leg pain. It turned out that I have an autoimmune disease along with fibro. I was put on ibuprofen with food and a muscle relaxer called Robaxin and I'm sooo much better. So, you might have more than fibro going on with you. Do see board certified doctors and also ask if they treat fibro patients before you make your appointment. There are still some doctors out there in the Dark Ages when it comes to this illness.
You definitely are not a failure! I actually don't know how you are doing what you are doing in the first place. It would be difficult for a healthy person to be standing on their feet all of the time. I think you are doing magnificently well!
The neuropathy or numbness could be stemming from your back or it could be from diabetes. Neuropathy is dealing with the nerves so you will have pain and diabetic neuropathy can be quite painful. You can be thin as a board and still have pain from neuropathy because it's the nerves causing the pain, not muscles...at least that's my understanding. I'm not a doctor but this does make sense to me. There are creams that can help. One I use for my muscles is called Sombra and I've been told it has helped with diabetic neuropathy, also.
The pain running down your legs could be stemming from your back also. That's what was happening to me. The lower back and the sacroiliac joints are close together. Nerves run there too and can cause pain. This is another reason why I suggested you see a rheumatologist. You could possibly be helped like I was.
Be sure to read Fibro 101...the first thread on the forum. There are links to good info about fibro and you will learn a lot there.
I"m looking forward to getting to know you better. Don't hesitate to ask questions because we are here to help you. Hope to hear more from you soon.
