I am on warfarin (blood thinner) and the following is just some of the things i can not take:
Aspirin (except as prescribed by your doctor)
Products containing aspirin such as Pepto- Bismol®, Alka-Seltzer®, Kaopectate®, Bayer cold and flu, Excedrin®
Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as ibuprofen (Advil®) or naproxen (Aleve®)
Cimetidine (Tagamet®) used for heartburn
Vitamin E supplements
Herbal products especially garlic, gingko, ginseng, and ginger: Garlic and ginger used in food will not cause problems. However, supplements do interact because they have a much larger amount of garlic and ginger.
Vitamin products containing more than 25 mcg of vitamin K per tablet
They want my blood level to be 2.5 - 3.00 and any of the above can change the level. I even took dramamine when i was pregnant many years ago. Some meds make me jittery, and my heart races. Others make me sluggish and sleepy. What i usually do is read at night or if not sleepy at all, will get on comp for awhile. We have a ceiling fan and a fan next to the bed that has a white noise that helps me sleep. The nausea was from a sinus infection and the anti biotics i am taking. It has taken over a month trying to get my blood level in that zone and it is just barely under 3.0 hoping it stays there.
