I had an amazing weekend. Yesterday I was cleaning in my kitchen. There was a leak under the kitchen sink and all week I was walking around the stuff that normally goes under there while we ran the dehumidifier to dry it out. Finally yesterday it was deemed dry enough to put the stuff away. I can't get down on the floor or on my knees, so it was a bit of a challenge to get everything back under there, but I did it. I also did a ton of laundry. It was just amazing to have enough energy not to just lay around all weekend and recover enough to be able to work again the next week.
Today I met up with some friends and we drove our families to the river to swim. There was a waterfall with a pool under it and my daughter wanted to jump off the cliff into the pool. I wanted to see her do it, but there were some rocks I needed to climb over to get to where I could see her. I decided to go for it. I was able to climb over the rocks, keep my balance and not hurt myself. I was also able to watch my daughter jump twice and even got a picture the second time.
The friends I spent the day with have been on this fibromyalgia journey with me and even they were surprised at how much I was able to do! So much more than I could do even a year ago. I've made a lot of changes in my life. More exercise, better diet, giving up dairy completely (even milk chocolate!) along with trying acupuncture. I think each thing has improved things. It is so nice to see the results of all of those changes. I feel like I'm getting my life back.
