doctor appointment being set up

It has been several years since i was dx with fibro by a rhuemy. I have not been back to her since i was dx having my primary deal with it. I went to my primary (different from the pcp i had at time of dx). I have trouble asking for meds but the pain is just getting worse at times and since i am not working now, if i try meds that make me sleepy or sluggish (which many do) it will not be a problem.
So I took dh with me and he told her about the pain and that "i could not even do housework" or much of anything else. She looked in my records and found the rhuemy i saw and is going to schedule an appt with her for me. I am also going to send me to an ortho for my back and another ortho for my wrist. I have what she things is a cyst that is growing and my wrist is painful. So my calendar is getting full again.
She also said will probably send me to a legit pain clinic. I was leery as there have been a lot in the papers here about pain clinics that are not on the up and up.
I think this will all help on the disability request also. Wish me luck.

The pcp put me on lyrica for awhile, but it did not seem to do much for me. She said that they can not prescribe narcotics there so that is why she is suggesting the pain clinic. My pain is not just from the fibro, i also have osteoporosis and a lot of arthritis. I have a lot of old fractures in my back which hurts a lot. The pain clinic issue is something i will def talk to the rhuemy about. I hate taking meds, and until the episode in april may have been the worse person when it came to taking meds.
I do not want to seem if i am just asking for drugs. My pcp said she knows my history of not wanting to take pills and they have resources to look up users of narcotics.
Any suggestions of what to bring up at the rhuemy's? I am so afraid i will leave something important out. It is hard to know what pertains to the fibro or to other things.

I told my dh and parents that it would look good on the appeal. That sounds like i am just trying to get it for that. I have known for awhile that i needed something stronger. Just with work, it was hard to get over the sluggish and sleepy feeling enough to work and drive. I have an appt on Oct 18 with the original rhuemy who dx it. I also have to go to the ortho dr on Sept 12 for my back pain. and another ortho in the same group on Sept 18 for a cyst on my wrist. I want to get everything dealt with i can before the end of the year. I have met my out of pocket expenses with insurance.
I know it looks like i am not in a bad way if i have not been seeing a specialist, but with the prices for visits and meds and side effects, i have just went on and suffered. I always say i can not handle pain. Hubby keeps telling me i am strong. I actually went a week with a broken bone in my back, even going to work with help though could not stay for full shift. I was out for 6 weeks once they found the break and past fractures i had had and did not even know it.
We are all strong to deal with fibro. I just wish others knew how much but without them going through it.
