BAD FLAIR, What kind of blankets do you use?

Im always amazed how much a bad flair hurts when its been awhile since I have had one. Are any of you like that? I live in E . Texas and our temp. has dropped nearly 30 degrees in past 2 weeks. I always do this, but it still shocks me. I have a question: what do you all do for bed covers that dont hurt? I can barely stand anything touching me. I have one ultra soft light weight blanket that I use, but right now even it hurts. We are taking a weekend trip to visit my husbands family. We bought a new mobil home so I can go on trips. I just dread it so much. We will be there for 3 days and I know I can only visit so much. I get so exhausted as all you fibro friends know. I have tried to explain to my husband not to have high expectation of me. Now I have this horrible flair. Sat. nite is an 80th birthday party for my husbands sister. I love her but she does not believe in fibro. There will be many people at party. Hopefully I wont be missed when I go to our motor home because I cant stand the pain. I cant walk from neuropathy in both feet and legs. My new wheelchair makes me feel embarrassed. WHY cant I get over feeling weak about pain? I just dont want my dear hubby to feel let down by me. I will be back here next monday to share about the party experience. I am going to try extra hard, I just hope I can do it.

Thanks Momma, yes the expensive sheets make a huge difference. However, I have trouble with a sheet on top. Ultra soft fitted sheet, then an ultra soft personal blanket. Any blanket or sheet that hangs down off of bed causes too much weight. My feet can touch nothing but the bottom sheet. Its weird, even tho my feet are numb as can be, as are my legs to just below knees, I can feel cold on them. I covered them up last nite, a separate lite weight throw. I woke up with them throbbing. I made a mistake by putting a second blanket over my body that was extremely lush and light weight, but it still hurt. Tonight Im going to wear my plush PJs and use a very light weight down comforter. Gotta find the right combination. Heat hurts me so much, whether its caused by blankets or by being in sun. I just cannot tolerate heat.

Slightly off-topic, but can you or someone else with neuropathy describe how your legs and feet feel? I suspect that's what's happening to me, but am not sure. I start with them being stiff in the morning, and it can be uncomfortable putting on shoes. After walking around a while, the stiffness really hits my feet, and I feel like there's pressure building, as if my feet were pushing down into the floor, and the floor is pushing back! If I don't wear more comfortable shoes (if I can find some), or get off my feet, I slowly lose sensation in my feet, which can lead to muscle cramping. Is that how your feet/legs feel? I can also get really achy legs, as if I have a flu or something, and some occasional muscle cramping there.

Does your neuropathy affect other areas of your body? My breasts have been sore (very unusual for me), and I have very low (what feels like) uterine cramping. Inflammation there, maybe? And I have the as-usual all-over sore feeling of fibro the same time.

I go in for lab work tomorrow, so we'll see what that shows. Thanks!

I have a hard time with the weight of my T-shirt cotton sheets hurting my toes and knees too. I have to wear thick pjs and some socks I got from the hospital. They are very soft knit and big on me with no binding.

One night I was so tender I had to wear a cami, cotton shorts, and sleep on top of the sheets. I made sure the house was very warm that night.

Just bumping this up and hoping someone can help me better understand neuropathy. Thanks.

I use the big puffy light ones made with real good grade cotten. Like a cloud. It is the only one that doesnt cause pain in middle of nite.
I am hoping really hard that all falls in place (it does happen), and you and your sister can find some quality time. Rest-up and roll withit. Have fun with it. You arent alone. There are so many caring people backing you who understand you and your life in a way others may not.
