Hi, Tonton, and welcome! I see you have already been directed to Fibro 101. It's important to read since you have to be your own advocate with this illness. You have already found out that there are still doctors in the Dark Ages when it comes to fibro. Be sure whatever doctor you see treats fibro patients. Most here see rheumatologists but still make sure that doctor treats fibro patients because there are still a few out there that don't.
The doctor should run a myriad of tests to rule out other illnesses that have the same symptoms as fibro. They have to do this because there is no real test for fibro except a tenderpoint test.
I use malic acid/magnesium supplements and also vitamin D3 supplements to help with pain and fatigue. I take ibuprofen and Tylenol too. I also have one prescription for a muscle relaxer that has helped me quite a bit. Gentle massages help, too. You do need to keep moving so I walk daily and do gentle stretching exercises that help. Above all, pace yourself when doing things. It all gets done but in a different time frame.
I'm looking forward to getting to know you better. Don't hesitate to ask questions because we are here to help you. Hope to hear more from you soon.
