I've been suffering from chronic pain for more than 12 years now. I was dx with fibro about 2 years ago after years of agony.

I've been on many different drugs.
Savella, Lyrica, Duloxetine, Tramadol, Clonazepham, Diazepam, Flexiril, Prexige, Celebrex, etc you name it.

So far Tramadol, Flexiril, Clonazepham are kinda working. The rest didn't work or been taken out of the market due to severe side effect.

I've been coping alright until recently. I've been under extra stress, firstly my partner left me with my 5 y.o whom I love dearly. Then I changed job which was suppose to be less demanding but turned out to be opposite. I am at my wit's end, my condition got worst and recently am suffering from drug induced hepatitis.

As a short term measure, I've quit my job, which helps reduce my stress... but I need long term solution. I'm hoping someone can share their wisdom.

Hi Clarence. I'm sorry to read of your troubles. Stress is such a huge factor for me as well. Though my situation is very different. Yoga might help you, and your 5 y/o will probably participate as well..
my kids did at that age. The breathing techniques help manage stress and the stretching is good for you also. I hope that idea helps. Good luck to you. K

great idea lucky dog. That would be a great example to your five year old and time well spent for the both.

I was on Cymbalta (Duloxetine) which is a kind of anti depressant, I didn't felt it was working so my doctor and psychiatrist agreed that I go off it. We're still working out what to do next.

I do know I need to get my mood swings in control. Am currently seeing a whole range of medical professionals to try to sort a few things out. On one hand I'm feeling a bit better while I am not working, however, this can't really go on forever... I don't even want to think about that ATM.

I have yet to try yoga, just can't seem to find that extra time for it. I guess I'll need find one that have a parent child session. I did start Aikido with my 5 y/o, but am not doing it ATM because that was too much for the body.

Loneliness is another issue as well... I moved to my current place hoping my partner and her family will help, but instead I'm currently feeling a bit trapped because I'm now here by myself with my child while, she's back at her parent's place and only have herself to deal with. I can't go anywhere else because if I do, I'd lose my 5 y/o. However being where I am mean I do have to start getting a support network going all over again.

I do find having to take care of a young person do limit my ability to make new friends. The people I meet now are parents, whom have their own issues to deal with as well. It's just so much more complex trying to form friendship at this stage of my life.

I'm grateful that I'm getting some reply on my thread, it makes me felt I've been heard and that feels reassuring.
