Hi, everyone. I am new to the forum and wanted to connect with people who have similar health problems. I am a 57-year-old widow of two years as of September. I have three daughters and nine grandchildren. I moved in with my oldest daughter shortly before my husband passed in a nursing home. We moved to Iowa two years ago from the South and I have finally been getting answers to some of my health issues.
I am currently diagnosed with: Fibromyalgia, Pre-Diabetes, Hypothyroidism, Degenerative Disk Disease, Heart Disease, IBS, Chronic Pain Syndrome, Seizure disorder, Sciatic Nerve problems, High Blood Pressure, Allergies, Sleep Apnea, Insomnia, Asthma, Costochondritis, and according to the son-in-law I live with, meanness :)
I sometimes get so frustrated because I catch a lot of colds and infections. I can't do a lot of the things I want to do and used to do. I have tried several medications for the Fibro and have had to come off of all of them due to adverse reactions. I feel like an experiment, sometimes. If it weren't for the support of my family and God, I don't know what I would do.
I have real difficulty reaching out to others and my daughter has kind of pushed me to do this. I am a very private person. I want to help others, but, don't like to ask for help. My daughter has started me on magnesium malate and she makes homemade massage and healing oils. She makes them using coconut oil for a base and essential oils like ginger. She also started me drinking home juiced drinks with ginger. The ginger seems to help, but, I still have bad days with the Fibro.
