Has anyone here done any writing?

I do a little writing, but would like to do more.  I'm looking for magazines which accept short stories, experiences, etc..  I'm by NO means a professional writer.  I have done very simple things, such as sent in very short articles to one magazine, in their monthly topic (the one I'm working on now is about old home remedies). (Is it okay if I mention the name of the magazine here?)

Does anyone know of magazines which accept little articles (really, more like a few paragraphs), such as I've done?

I've heard there are places you can go online and write for a few dollars.  I guess I would like something where I wouldn't have to sit a long time and type.  I can sit on the couch with my heating pad or ice pack! As for sitting at the computer...well, you know how long that lasts. But if anyone knows of something online that may work, please let me know.

So--just looking for sources, and I would especially prefer magazine sources, if anyone would know of any. And the simpler the topics, the better. :)  Writing contests would be great, too.  Where would I find them?

Yahoo Contributer has an area where you can write what you want and get paid for it, I think you just need to set up an account and go from there. I think they pay with pay pal or check. I do know that the editors will review your work and if they like it they will let you know with messages and will also tell you if you need to change the way you paragraphed things or any other mistakes they may find and after you redo then they will publish it online. I don't know to many other except for blogging sites. I wish you luck!!!!!!

Luvzminis- thanks for posting this! I would love to find a writing job as well. I can't work a "regular" job right now, even from home. As a former workaholic, this is driving me crazy!

lisab88- great advice! I will also check out Yahoo Contributer to see what is out there.

There is money to be made writing online if you can write well and on diverse topics.

I would suggest you check out elance and odesk as well as freelancer. All are great sites where you can register and offer your writing services. You can bid on jobs too. Worth checking out.
