Stream of Consciousness...
In the first six months of experiencing Fibro issues, I noticed that my hair started to fall out from the root fast. Thankfully, after about a year or so, the rate of loss seemed to slow and I sighed a breath of relief. (At the time I had no diagnosis and feared that I may go bald). A year or two went by with less hair loss, and then, this last spring, it seemed as if I started losing more again and found strings of hair all over my shirt every day, and basically everywhere. I have been trying to figure out what in my lifestyle may speed up the loss, or what I might be able to do to slow it. Basically, I've been searching out a source/cause. Obviously a 'flare' might cause more loss, but I think I may have figured it out.
I think it may all surround my sleep schedule. Any dramatic change or disruption in my ability to get sleep is what causes that massive amounts of shedding. (My current tentative theory)
I got a new job in the spring and started waking up 6 hours earlier than I was accustomed to. I was working out and feeling great and NOT in a flare, but I think the change in sleep is what started it back up again. And since I worked even more intense hours during the summer at my summer job I haven't recovered and have been funky into November.. thus the shedding continues.
If this is the case, I feel a little bit more in control of what was causing me to feel completely helpless. I know sleep isn't easy for me or fibro sufferers, but just knowing that if there's hope to sleep the way I did before the change of my job, maybe I can slow down my hair loss again.
If it aint broke.. don't fix it. :/ I always tend to break what is 'okay'.. but this is an aspect of living and experimenting and trying new things so I shall not let myself beat myself up over it..
